Jimmy Fallon and Call Me Maybe

Okay, so maybe you’ve already seen this video (unless you’ve been living under a rock or don’t have Twitter). It’s Jimmy Fallon, Carly Rae Jepsen AND the Roots performing Call Me Maybe with elementary school instruments. Amazing. I just have one minor complaint about this one: Why isn’t anyone playing the recorder? Isn’t the recorder like the one instrument everyone knows how to play because they were forced to learn it in school? I still remember my flawless rendition of Hot Cross Buns. I couldn’t quite master When the Saints Go Marching In. I’m not very musically inclined.

I think my favorite dude is the one with the rainbow xylophone. So good. Jimmy, you’re the best.

Can’t Stop Playing: Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me, Maybe”

The first time I heard Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” I thought: “Hmm, okay. Not really my thing, but… I’ll play it one more time.”

Apparently, I fooled myself. I’ve had this song on repeat since I first started listening to it. At home, at work, at the gym. WHY IS IT SO DARN CATCHY?!

I’m not the only one to think so: It’s been making some serious waves with everyone writing about it, talking about it, and most importantly — making covers of it.

The icing on the cake? This cheese-tastic video of The Biebs, Sel, and the Tiz (Ashley Tisdale, where have you been?!) — oh and some other peeps.

I seriously don’t care if I sound like a teeny bopper right now, this is the perfect song to get you in a spring mood. (Although it does make me feel a bit better knowing that she’s also not a teen. Born in 1985 folks!)

Anyway, check out the original music video, and the one with the tiz for some serious smiles. (And dancing. But maybe that’s just me?)
